Some call it Split Rock. Some call it Halfway Rock. Twin Devil. Or Angel Rock. Whatever it is called, one thing is the same. It marks halfway from the trailhead to Mt. Baldy summit.
At the mouth of the valley, the thick blanket of smog hovers over the adjacent cities. This is the point where Santiago Peak starts to peek out to greet you from the far distance.
On my way to Mt. Baldy summit on Mt. Baldy Trail (aka Bear Canyon Trail, or Village Trail), San Gabriel Mountains, California. You can read or view other photos that I took as well on Mt. Baldy hike blog post.
