After walking back on Piegan Pass Trail/Continental Divide Trail (CDT) along the south side of Lake Josephine, as opposed to Grinnell Glacier Trail on the north side of the lake, I arrived at Swiftcurrent Lake. As it did when I hiked in, the mountain that dominated the skyline (south side of the lake) was Allen Mountain. By the time I arrived at the rather small Swfitcurrent Lake, the mountain only revealed itself just a tiny bit, as if playing peekaboo. The rain clouds constantly hanging over my head while hiking back were advancing fast. That is what I learned about Glacier National Park at this time of the year… It rains often and a lot.
