Once the sun completely sank below the horizon, I climbed back up to the top of the short breakwater, jutted out to the southwest. I then looked in the direction of the main breakwater, running parallel to the pier to the southeast. The intensity of the crashing waves got me fired up again. I immediately reached for my camera. The waves, almost menacing and definitely merciless, juxtaposed against the flashing green lights of the lighthouse under such a calm, purple/magenta sky with the scattered after storm clouds, reminded me of why I used to come here almost every morning for the first half of the last year to capture sunrises. What an adrenaline rush!
