Once the sun rose high above the mountains, we were feeling the warmth of the sun. We briskly scrambled down the southwest slope of Lembert Dome to take a closer look at Tuolumne Meadows. The entire meadows now opened up with a backdrop of Cathedral Peak, Cockscomb and Fairview, and as far as Tuolumne Peak and Mt. Hoffmann. Tuolumne River snaked across the meadows. Below us there was Tioga Road, which closes in winter due to snow. It was really hard to picture this vast meadows totally covered with snow in the company of the snow-clad mountains from where I was standing.
